im finding it difficult to read the bible. i find it boring and cant pay attention to what im reading. do u have any favorite books in the bible that would keep me entertained?

peterdwebb:

Tricky question. I think examining your motivation is the key.

If you’re looking for entertainment, you’re going to be disappointed. Scripture is less like a teen fiction novel and more like a mirror to see how far we are from where we should be.

But it’s also a letter from God to us telling us of how His love and sacrifice can bridge that impossible gap.

It’s also a manual for life and righteousness.

Read Psalm 119 for a the kind of attitude we’re supposed to have with scripture. Set your expectations more selflessly, and you’ll end up finding real meaning instead of looking for thrills.

Protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, adopted the ‘hands up, don’t shoot’ gesture after claims Mike Brown had his arms in the air when he was shot by police officer Darren Wilson.

The gesture has spread all the way to Hong Kong, where protesters are experiencing a violent police crackdown on the ‘pro-democracy’ demonstrations.

"Rahm Emanuel is not caring about our schools; he is not caring about our safety. He only cares about his kids. He only care about what he needs. He do not care about nobody else but himself.

He let Barbara Byrd-Bennett, a woman that’s from Detroit who don’t even know the streets of Chicago where I’m from, come in and close these schools.” [x]
